Letter to Canucks

Dear Vancouver Canucks,

Thank you so much for winning  Game 5 on Friday.  My Man and our family had a great weekend because of it.  My husband got “Happy Legs” just like you guys and decided to clean the house, cut the grass, and play with the kids all day Saturday.  My Man even sat through the kids Karate & Gymnastics with a smile on his face, listening to Team 1040 commentary about the win.  Any chance he gets, he is watching Sportsnet News replays and interviews with Coach Alain and the Canuck players.

My Man was just a pleasure to be around this weekend.

Game 3 & 4 were losses, I know it had to happen that you may lose a game or two.  I don’t blame you, I know that any team is beatable on any given day.  I realize its the Stanley Cup Playoffs, nothing is guaranteed in the playoffs.  It’s just, well, the Man was in such a mood after both those games.  That he seriously starting cleaning, it was not good cleaning, it was very forceful vacuuming with aggression.  No violence though, just worried-stress-thinking cleaning.  You might have mistaken him for a pregnant woman nesting, except he’s a Man and not pregnant.  I think that the Man may have  tapped into some of those ’94 series emotions, we were both so heartbroken about the Cup that year.

I know its really impolite, pushy, and downright impertinent of me to ask, but I must.

Do you think you could win in Boston?

For my Man’s health (i.e. his blood pressure; his heart; his emotional health; his life-long dedication to the Canucks) and essentially for our family’s contentment?

Please win the Stanley Cup in Boston.  I know it would be great to win it on home ice for Game 7, but I just don’t know if I could take a loss or anymore cleaning.  He might seriously break out the  bleach and try to clean the bathroom again.  He tried that once, I didn’t get to see him for about 4 hours.  I don’t know why he took so long but I was not going to mess with The Man cleaning the bathroom, especially when he was toting around a big bottle of toxic bleach.  The only casualty was that my good face cloths got used as cleaning cloths.  I had to throw them out.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.  I am also going to give you a big THANK YOU prior to Game 6, in the hopes that you are listening and take Lord Stanley’s Cup in Boston.

This is the Canucks year! This is what WE live for!

Thanking you in advance,

Naomi Jesson a.k.a. Wife to the emotional stress cleaner

P.S. Please help me save my towels for what they are supposed to be used for, the bath, not for stress cleaning.  I live for the playoffs, I don’t live for the destructive-emotional-stress cleaner. Thanks! XOXO

P.S.S. So glad to see my Fav Hotty Holtra playing.  Can’t wait until he shaves off that beard. Beards are so not sexy.

  1. and for the health of my husband and family well-being too 🙂

  2. This was funny. For the sake of my own nerves, I hope they win game 6 too. Go Canucks Go!

I know Bruna. It’s amazing how much anxiety I have over our Vancouver Canucks. I guess it just feels that if they win, it will somehow legitimize the franchise. Go Canucks Go!
