I WON! No. Really. I Did!

I used to say that I NEVER win anything. Never say never, as I won something for the first time in my life.  NO. It was not the Lotto Max but it was just as much of an adrenaline rush.

I won 2 tickets to see the opening night of KOOZA the latest show of Cirque du Soleil’s that is touring in Vancouver.  I decided to take my Mom as she has never seen Cirque, EVER.  If you haven’t gone, you really must go seem them in your lifetime. It’s Bucket List stuff. Really.

Thanks to Tracey Rossignol of Fashion Forward 40 blogging fame, I got to OOoo and Ahhh with the audience, all because of my comment on her Kooza giveaway post.  I felt for the mothers of the Wheel of Death Duo, as they gave a heart-attack thrilling performance that I just wouldn’t be able to watch if it were my son.  I was also reminded of my 3 years olds prowess at climbing by the thrilling performer with full tattooed legs, as he stacked the chairs 30 feet into the air and then balanced on them.

The costumes were phenomenal, the music was entrancing, the physical comedy was hilarious.  I am amazed again how  interactive the cast was and how they use the audience as part of their show.  Kooza was as spell-binding as Totem.  Kooza focused on classic comedy & clowning and was mixed with amazing acrobatics that were all connected by a touching storyline. I completely recommend getting tickets to see this show.

I was overdressed, as usual.  But I was convincing enough to encourage my Mom to overdress as well. Heh.

Me overdressed at Cirque du Soleil Totem in Montreal.  Hey, it was Tapis Rouge (that’s VIP to all you unCirque people) and the Man and I were childless.

I am wearing dark red alligator platforms with two straps, shoes from White House Black Market, where I also got my dress that I am wearing.

To continue the tradition of overdressing.

BCBG Max Azria dress with understated Reef silver strappy flip-flops.

My Mom.  Wearing a classic white pant with white fitted top with a square neckline sleeveless top.  Her 3/4 red jacket has an embroidered red design, by Franco Mirabelli.

Doing her BEST Red Carpet Hand-on-Hip pose. Doesn’t she look FABULOUS!

Then I noticed this couple.

Do you SEE what is in his left hand?!?!?! YES. That is a MAN PURSE.  I thought it was his date’s at first but you can clearly see she has her BlackBerry and a similar small purse in her right hand.

WOW.  I may overdress but I definitely am NOT making that Fashion Faux Pas.

A BIG thanks to my Mom for making it a memorable night and a BIG thank you to Tracey of Fashion Forward 40 for holding such a great contest.

  1. So glad you had a good time. And you and your mom both looked fantastic. I think anytime you get a chance to go out with other adults (and no kids) you need to pull out the best duds. Got to make the most of it when you can!!!
